Colnaghi label with inscriptions: “An Old Woman With Arms Outstreteched by Jean Baptiste Greuze (1725-1805)/Drawing in Black Chalk with Grey Wash [sic], Heightened with White/signed and dated: Greuze f. romae an. 1756/Greuze was in Rome for one year from 1755, & the study was no doubt made from life.
