Inscriptions: The number 112” is stenciled onto the back of the lining canvas in black ink (or paint) on the right. On the left is a “Y” and the number “247” below, also both stenciled (inventory number of Isabella d'Orleans). There are two old paper labels on the back of the strainer: a red label printed “Thos.Agnew & Sons Ltd.” on the upper left and a small white one in the lower right with “224464” handwritten with an undecipherable word below. There are remnants of an old wax seal on the crossbar of the strainer.
